57 Things to Do at 57

For example: try the guac.

I worked at the office this morning. Jimmy took me to Plaza Azteca, where we had a delicious lunch. After lunch, I headed home for the afternoon and took a highly unproductive but fulfilling 57th birthday afternoon nap. Soon, Donna, Chris, and I will be heading out for tacos at El Burrito, here in Phoenixville.

I am fine with two Mexican meals today.

For my 57th year, I am making a list of 57 things to do at 57. This list is a work in progress – there are only about 25 items on it so far – but it will cover both silly and serious items I want to do.

I am not going to share the list because I don’t want to set myself up for failure, and also because some of the items are personal. However, as events warrant, I will touch on my progress.

For example: I have heard that the fresh guacamole at Plaza Azteca is amazing, but I had convinced myself that I did not like guac. So I put “try guacamole” at the top of my 57 things list, and today I accomplished that goal and can confirm: the guac at Plaza Azteca is indeed amazing. I would eat it with a fox and I would eat it in a box, etc.
