A Quick Check-In
Celebrating the mysterious September 10, 1983 journey to Toledo!

A friend of mine who subscribes to this online journal asked me yesterday if The Dichotomy of the Dog was still an ongoing concern. It is, despite the fact that it’s been two months since my last entry, back on July 4.
Sometimes the gaps in a journal or diary indicate interesting times, either happy or sad, for the journalist/diarist. For me, it’s pretty much just been getting on with the summer. Nothing terribly exciting to report, though there has been ice cream and ice cream is always good.
Rather than getting caught up on recent events though, I thought I’d check in tonight to note that today is the 40th anniversary of that time when Great Uncle Frank and Great Aunt Ellie journeyed to Toledo, Ohio. I am not certain what the occasion was, and probably will never know, but I have a set of 10 or so Polaroid photos to prove that it happened. One of those photos is shown above. The others are scattered throughout the house at the moment.
While we’ll never know exactly what happened in Toledo, Ohio on September 10, 1983, I think we can all agree that Frank and Ellie had a fabulous time that day, and eventually returned, with Polaroids, to Altoona, not too much worse for the wear.
