Grave Hunters, Presidential and Otherwise
Meet Kurt Deion and plan to read his book this summer!

I have yet to meet Kurt Deion but I’ve known him since he was a kid. Kurt is a fellow taphophile (cemetery lover) who has visited the gravesites of every U.S. president, as well as every vice president. He and his father documented every visit along the way via social media, so if I feel like I’ve watched Kurt grow up, it’s because I literally have.
Kurt was nine years old when he started his quest. I was 10 when I visited my first president (appropriately, George Washington) in 1975. I haven’t visited them all yet. I’ve been stuck at 14 presidents for years and it’s time that I do something about that. However, over the last ten years, I’ve been a tour guide at Laurel Hill Cemetery, which has given me an amazing opportunity to share my love of cemeteries with hundreds of people.
I feel about Kurt the way I feel about my fellow LHC tour guides: we are kindred spirits.
Kurt has written a memoir of his grave-hunting adventures. It’s called Presidential Grave Hunter and it’s being published in May. I am looking forward to reading it.
Click here to visit Kurt’s Historic Sites, where you can watch a trailer Kurt has made for the book and pre-order it, if you are so inclined.
