Happy Election Day!

Happy Election Day! We’ll all be happy not to miss the endless, awful campaign ads, and to get on with all of our lives. But first, get out there and vote! There is absolutely no margin for apathy this time around – or any time around, really.

Here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dr. Mehmet Oz campaign signs are littering suburban lawns and roadside strips of grass. There’s millions of them! Hell, a few weeks ago, I even saw an Oz sign on a lawn just outside Lubec, Maine – the easternmost town in the United States, by the way. I love Maine, but Mainers ought to not worry about supporting a TV reality show New Jerseyite doctor who is Donald Trump’s choice to represent Pennsylvanians in the U.S. Senate.

You’d think that your typical rough’n’rowdy Pennsylvanian would have seen through Oz’s highly contrived, cultivated, and cruditie-d image, but the race is close. Fetterman may not be perfect, but he’s not beholden to Trump.

Anyway, fun fact about all those Oz signs. If you rotate them one side to the right, “OZ” becomes “ON”. However, if you rotate the signs one turn to the left, “OZ” becomes “NO”. And this – turning OZ into NO – is one of the primary reasons that I just returned from my local voting location.
