Phoenixville Saturday Night
This was a good weekend to party in Phoenixville.

Yesterday was Donna’s birthday and we celebrated with a quintessential Phoenixville Saturday night for us. Jimmy, Lisa and Aly met us at El Burrito where we enjoyed delicious food and celebrated. We have been eating at El Burrito for several years now and it’s high on our list of all-time favorite restaurants.
After dinner, we headed over to Steel City, where our friend Cliff Hillis was playing a show with the Forward Thinkers. Suzanne Lavine opened the show. She recently recorded an EP at Cliff’s Hacienda home studio. I had never heard Suzanne’s music before, but I was immediately a fan.
It was Cliff’s first show at Steel City since before lockdown and he and the band were great. You could just tell how much they enjoyed being onstage again. Cliff played several of his most popular songs, including his new song, “Jacques Cousteau.”
Cliff had commissioned Chris to create a cover for “Jacques Cousteau” and asked Chris if he’d like to sell prints of the painting and his other works at the show. Chris sold a bunch of prints and enjoyed some great conversations with the buyers about his work.
After the show, there was much mingling and conversation among good friends. It was truly a great Phoenixville night. I’m glad I was there for it.
