Spring Forward!
A new season, a new notebook. But first, a look at the old one.

Tomorrow – which starts any minute now – is the first day of spring. That means I’m going to start writing in a new journal notebook.
The timing is perfect: I had started writing in a new notebook on December 20, right as winter began. I just wrote the last entry in it as winter is coming to a close.
About this “Winter 2022-2023” notebook: I made it from the front and back covers of a 1963 corporate record album, Ten Steps of a Planned Presentation, by Cloyd Steinmetz. It was part of a stash of long-outdated training records that I found nearly 30 years ago. I had at least six of them, which was perfect: I made one for myself and one each for five people who collectively inspired a creative and conversational energy in me last year. I appreciated this kickstart and wanted to let them know, so I made them notebooks.
What each of these folks do with the notebooks is their business. I simply told them “Have fun with this notebook, do something cool and creative with it.”
As for me, I filled the notebook up with the contents of my head over the last three months. There’s a lot going on up there, but this notebook is helping me to sort it all out.
