The Parable of the Giant Red Bird and the Guys Driving Around Looking for Photo Ops
You never know when your weird adventure might intersect with somebody else's weird adventure.

Many years ago, there was a giant red bird who lived in Frazer, Pennsylvania. Friends of the bird asked him if he’d like to spend a weekend standing by Route 30 and waving to the people driving cars up and down the road.
The giant bird wasn’t sure if he wanted to do this. “After all,” he thought, “I must rest up for the monthly meeting of the Numismatists Club, which I never miss.”
“On the other hand,” the bird thought, “somebody driving down Route 30 might need to see me there by the side of the road. I’ll do it!”
And so it was that the giant red bird stationed himself by the side of the road, early one Saturday morning, and began waving to passersby.
One such passerby was not pleased, and flipped an entirely different kind of bird to the giant red bird.
But then it happened. A car drove by and then suddenly pulled into the parking lot where the bird was stationed. Two guys jumped out of the car and ran to the bird with great excitement.
“We decided to drive down 30 this morning, looking for photo ops,” exclaimed one of the guys, as he waved a Polaroid camera, “And we found YOU!”
The giant red bird had found its purpose.
