Three Days in D.C. (Days 1 and 2)
I had not been in Washington D.C. since October 2016. I made up for that this past week.
Way back in October 2016, I journeyed with some co-workers to Washington, D.C. It was an overnight trip, prompted by our organization’s magazine winning an award. A Major Award! It was fun night that ended for me taking a late night walk that led me to the White House, Ford’s Theater, and Wok’n’Roll (also known as Mary Surratt’s boarding house, where John Wilkes Booth and company plotted Lincoln’s assassination).
The next morning we were up and out of town early. I may have been nursing a bit of a hangover.
And that was the last time I was in Washington, until this past week. I have spent three of the last seven days in D.C. Four, if you count last Wednesday, but again, we were up and out of town early, so I am not counting. Not so much of a hangover this time.
Join me, won’t you, as I recount my three days in D.C., in photos and captions.
Day 1 — Another Major Award!

Day 2 — Art! Art! Art!
Donna, Chris and I headed down to D.C. early Saturday morning for an overnight trip. The main reason for this excursion was happening on Sunday morning, but we made the best of our Saturday, spending the afternoon at the Smithsonian’s National Gallery of Art. Here is what we saw.

Following our visit to the National Gallery, we settled in for the rest of the afternoon/evening so we could be ready for an equally busy and fun day to follow. I will cover that day in my next entry, coming soon! Very soon!
